Screen Applications
What are we looking for when screening applications?
We screen every application to make sure all applicants meet the minimum qualifications needed to become an Ohio Shared Services Associate. Minimum qualifications include the following:
• Completion of Associate coursework in accounting, finance, business administration, or computer science
- OR -
• Financial call center work in the private or other government sector
- OR -
• Equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above
Why does Ohio Shared Services screen applications?
Simply put, we screen applications because our associates need a broad skill set and we want the best associates. The Ohio Shared Services Associate is responsible for organizing, prioritizing, and processing shared services financial transactions. To do this, the Ohio Shared Services Associate will need to comply with Ohio Shared Services policies, procedures, controls, and workflow rules. Associates process transactions while understanding financial concepts and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Ohio Shared Service Associates are also expected to provide internal and external customers with a high degree of customer service in a fast-paced call center environment where work will be delegated from an assigned queue of calls.
If a candidate passes the application screening portion of the application process, he or she will progress to the proficiency test.
